NAFS Committee to Review Survey Results and Discuss Future Activities
January 31, 2012On Wednesday, February 29, the AAMA NAFS Committee, chaired by Ray Garries (JELD-WEN) and Steve Fronek (Apogee), will be reviewing results of the member survey conducted to seek broad-based input on goals and methods for the update and maintenance of our flagship standard: AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440, the North American Fenestration Standard, or NAFS. In addition, members will be discussing a potential users’ guide, Joint Document Management Group (JDMG) structure and future activities associated with this long-standing committee.
The significantly re-formatted NAFS-2011 is complete, and no update is planned for the 2014 code cycle. The next version with be NAFS-2017, which means that the three sponsoring associations, through the JDMG, have time to address any issues in a responsible and comprehensive manner.
The results of the survey and ensuing member discussion are vital in helping guide the efforts of all AAMA councils, committees and task groups involved in NAFS-related activities.
