Registration is Open for the 2012 Summer Conference

Registration is open for the AAMA Summer Conference, to be held in Oak Brook, IL, June 10-13. AAMA members can register online by June 4 to receive a $50 discount. The conference will feature updates on committees and pertinent industry topics, as well as a special presentation from keynote speaker Michael Collins on the residential and commercial window and door industry. AAMA Scholarship Program and Partner Program recipients will also be announced.

Industry and Committee Updates
In addition to updates on ASHRAE, ASTM, IGMA and NFRC, a presentation will be given during the Regulatory Affairs Committee meeting that discusses key issues, including LRRP, ENERGY STAR®, USGBC LEED® 2012 developments and other areas of interest.

The Certification Policy Committee will report on the status of the certification procedure for third-party and manufacturer painting and laminating of profiles, as well as revisions to the Verified Components Program.

Additionally, the NAFS Committee will provide a report on the latest activities associated with the Joint Document Management Group, development of the NAFS User’s Guide, and the Code Action Committee will update attendees on action taken at the hearings regarding code change proposals to the 2012 International Building Code.

Speakers
Also during the Summer Conference, Michael Collins (Jordan, Knauff & Company) will present an overview of the residential and commercial window and door industry, current trends, as well as his outlook for the future of the industry.

Additional conference speakers will discuss topics such as environmental marketing and the FTC, the NFRC Independent Verification Program and updates on the aluminum fenestration industry.

AAMA Scholarship Award Winners
Recipients of the 2012 AAMA Scholarship and Partner Program awards will be announced at the Summer Conference. The AAMA Scholarship Program is a one-time award of $2,000 and is eligible to students who are pursuing an engineering or technical degree in the building products industry.

The Partner Program allows companies to extend an added benefit to their employees’ children with opportunities for financial aid in furthering their education.
