AAMA Certification to NAFS-11, Phase-out of AAMA/NWWDA 101/I.S.2-97January 2, 2012
With the recent publication of AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S.2/A440-11, NAFS 2011 – North American Fenestration Standard/Specification for windows, doors, and skylights, the AAMA Certification Policy Committee (CPC) has authorized certification to this document, effective immediately.
The new Standard/Specification is available for purchase through the AAMA Publication Store.
As a reminder, the phase-out of AAMA/NWWDA 101/I.S.2-97, Voluntary Specifications for Aluminum, Vinyl (PVC) and Wood Windows and Glass Doors, begins in just two months, as directed by the CPC and announced in February of 2008. Testing for AAMA certification ends as of March 1, 2012. However, test reports will be permitted for use for their entire four-year span, so certification and labeling to 101-97 will end four years later, as of March 1, 2016.
Testing, certification, and labeling to the 2002, 2005, 2008, and 2011 editions continue as of this time, but successful testing to the 2005 standard/specification is required for certification to any version.
