Window Safety and Fall Prevention
Window Safety Week, recognized every year during the first full week in April, serves as an reminder of recognizing the importance of window safety and fall prevention year-round. This week is designed to heighten the awareness of what parents and caregivers should do to help keep their homes and families safer from the risk of accidental falls or injuries through windows. Read more about window safety and fall prevention.

Weatherization Assistance Program
The program is directed towards low-income families, and the primary factor affecting eligibility is income. Any household at or below 200% of poverty is considered low-income. Though this figure is a DOE recommendation of criteria, each state administers weatherization services for its residents through local weatherization agencies, thus the criteria differ slightly for each state.
