MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Professional Membership Eligibility
Any person or firm involved in the design, specification, engineering, construction/renovation, or code compliance inspection of buildings and/or fenestration products and/or related components and accessories is eligible for Professional Membership.
Members must maintain a professional engineer (P.E.), registered architect/specifier, builder, glazing contractor or government/code official state license for Professional Membership eligibility.
Professional members may not be eligible for, or employed by, a person, firm or corporation engaged in business activities as defined under the Manufacturer, Supplier, Service Provider or Test Laboratory Membership.
Technical Consultant Membership Eligibility
Any person or firm providing technical consulting services to construction industry professionals, building or home owners, and/or manufacturing businesses related to the fenestration or construction industry is eligible for Technical Consultant Membership.
Consultants conducting field testing must meet the eligibility requirements for a Member under the Test Laboratory classification and must join as such.
Technical Consultant members may not be eligible for, or employed by, a person, firm or corporation engaged in business activities as defined under the Manufacturer, Supplier, Service Provider or Test Laboratory Membership.
Manufacturer, Supplier, Service Provider, Test Lab Membership Eligibility
Businesses involved in the manufacture, sale or service of fenestration products, may apply for Corporate Membership according to one of the following four classifications:
- Manufacturer – producer of fenestration products
- Supplier – company owned or affiliated operations of components, materials or services furnished to manufacturers of fenestration products
- Service Provider – services provided to manufacturers and suppliers or services provided to building owners of fenestration products. Includes, but is not limited to: dealers, distributors, glazing contractors and installers.
- Testing Laboratory – laboratory using scientific principles and specific test methods to test fenestration products for air, water, structural, thermal and/or component performance
