CERTIFICATION COMPLAINTS

Complaints Against a Product or Manufacturer
AAMA imposes no warranty requirements on its licensees, nor does AAMA have authority to enforce manufacturer warranties. AAMA does, however, require its licensees to respond to customer complaints. Manufacturer contact information is available through the Certified Products Directory elsewhere on the AAMA website.

If you do not know the manufacturer of your window or glass door and it is AAMA-certified, we can help. Find the AAMA gold label (usually visible when the door or window is in an open position), which is identified by the square AAMA logo at the left end. At the bottom center of the label, find the manufacturer code (Mfr Code); it consists of two or three letters, followed by a dash, followed by a number. Call AAMA at (847) 303-5664, and we’ll provide the name and contact information for the manufacturer.

Complaints of Fraudulent Claims of Certification

If a manufacturer claims AAMA certification of their products but this claim cannot be substantiated, contact customerservice@aamanet.org.

Complaints against the AAMA Certification Program
Complaints against the AAMA certification program itself should also be brought to the attention of the Chief Engineer, Certification Programs (see contact information above).

If the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved at this point, it can be appealed in writing to the AAMA Certification Policy Committee by writing to:

Chairman, Certification Policy Committee AAMA
1827 Walden Office Square, Suite 550
Schaumburg, IL 60173

If still not satisfactorily resolved, complaints may then be appealed to the AAMA Board of Directors, at the address given above. The Board’s decision is final.
